Golden Triangle

A few days ago we saw the Golden Triangle. It's basically where the three countries of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. It's kind of like 4 corners in Utah. Our mom was sick so she stayed back, but the rest of us went to the White Temple and to the official Golden Triangle place.

First we saw the White Temple. It is still under construction, but it's still pretty cool. We stopped there and took some pictures. Some guy just wanted to make something beautiful, so he made this. I don't think it has any purpose other than to look cool. We were going to go up and walk in it, but there was a sign that said, "no foreigners without a guide." so we didn't. There were two guys sitting near the entrance to the temple with a megaphone type thing, and their job was to yell at anybody that might maybe be doing anything wrong. It was kind of funny. "No madame, madame, madame! Don't touch that madame!" "No no no this is the entrance, mister! Mister, this is not the exit! You can't go this way!"
This is Jenna standing in front of a dragon sculpture thing.

Then we drove over to the actual Golden Triangle. We went over into Myanmar for around a half an hour, just for the stamp on the passport. These pictures are of us overlooking the 3 countries. We are in Thailand, Laos is on the right, and Myanmar is on the left.

  1. What is the purpose of the white temple? It is a beautiful building? I will have to admit, I have never even heard of it before. But that one picture is definitely worth a 1000 words.
