Sea Horses and Sharks and Rays. OH MY!

Just a little foreword here. This tour was actually about a week ago and so if some parts seem a little hazy, that is probably why.

When we got to our hotel on Isabela (an island), the owner recommended us some tours and we decided on one as a family. When the day came, a taxi picked us up in front of our hotel in the morning and we drove to a shop to rent snorkel stuff and fins. Then we loaded into a boat and drove to the first snorkeling spot. The ride took about 45 minutes and it was sort of bumpy, but not as bad as our first ferry ride. Also, on the ride we saw some rays swimming in the water. If you were lucky you got to see one wave at you. I was lucky.

When we got to the first snorkeling spot, the guide told us we would see some sea turtles, sea horses, and sharks in that order. When he said sea turtle I was thinking that it would be some mini one about the size of a dinner plate, but when we started swimming, it was about five feet long! I was pretty surprised by that, and we got to see three or four of them.  think they were dangerous, but who knows. The shark place was a bit different than the other places. We had to swim through some lava tunnels to get there. When we got to the place, which was a huge underwater cavern, we each took turns swimming down  to the cave and seeing the sharks. I'm pretty sure that these weren't dangerous, but again, who knows. There were a couple dozen sharks there and they were probably 5 feet long more or less.
All these pictures are from the tour guide's go pro.
Next we saw seahorses, they were really hard to find, because they latched onto some tree branches and were right next to the ground. They were about a foot long.
On the way to seeing sharks, there was a group of rays, actually, we'll call it a pride of rays cause that sounds cooler. The rays were about 3 feet in diameter in their body section. We followed them around for a while and that was cool. We headed back to the boat to start the next section of the tour. About 15 minutes away was the next snorkeling spot. There was a lot of the same stuff there, but we did see a puffer fish (but not puffed up) and penguins there (did you know there are penguins at the Equator? I didn't).There were also some lava tunnels there too.
After that we went back to the boat and had lunch, which wasn't bad. Then we went on a walk and saw some really cool lava tunnels, this time above water. After that we headed back home at about 3 PM. Overall I would say that even though the tour was very expensive, it was worth it.
